India Changes Date Of Telugu New Year Public Holiday

(Posted on Wednesday, March 14, 2007)

Source: Andhra Cafe

Hyderabad : The Andhra Pradesh government declared holiday for Ugadi, the Telugu New Year, on March 19 instead of March 20, after having consulted about 10 writers of panchangams to fix the date.

Telugu New Year is also a public holiday in the states on Ponducherry and Tamil Nadu, and we expect these 2 states to modify the date of their upcoming public holiday accordingly.
