Presidential candidate, Mr Raila Odinga, recently promised that he would make January 2 and 3, 2008, one-off public holidays if he is elected president in the upcoming December 27 elections.
Recent opinion polls currently put Mr Odinga more than 10 points ahead of his closest opponent, current President, Mwai Kibaki.
