Hijra New Year Holiday to be observed on January 20. Sayyid Ali bin Hamoud Al Busaidi, minister of the Diwan of Royal Court and chairman of the Civil Service Council, yesterday issued a decision that if Muharram 1 coincides with Friday, January 19, then Saturday Muharram 2 1428AH corresponding to January 20th would be an official holiday in lieu.
Otherwise, if it falls on Saturday January 20 (as predicted by Q++ Studio), it will remain on the 20th.
