Executive Secretary, Eduardo Ermita, confirmed that Malacañang (the Philippines equivalent of the US White House) was standing by the date of May 1st for the upcoming May Day public holiday.
The aforementioned announcement is in line with Proclamation 1211 (19-Jan-2007) which specified this year's list of official public holidays in the Philippines to guide employers in setting their employees' work schedules for the rest of the year.
