President Abdoulaye Wade who was re-elected on February 25, declared the day of his inauguration, Tuesday April 3, 2007, a fully-paid public holiday in Senegal. As the 4th is Senegal's National Day, he also declared Thursday April 5th a public holiday (leaving open the question of paid wages), as well as leaving open for all, the option of taking Friday the 6th, as a personal day, without pay to extend the week's holidays.
