Bangladesh Declares August 4 Public Holiday in 4 Cities and 9 Municipalities

The government of Bangladesh has declared a regional public holiday for officials and employees of all government, semi-government, autonomous, semi-autonomous and private offices and organisations in the 4 cities and 9 pourashavas (municipalities) that will be going to the polls on that day.

The city corporations concerned are: Rajshahi, Khulna, Barisal and Sylhet, and the pourashavas are: Naohata in Rajshahi, Dupchanchia in Bogra, Chuadanga, Sreepur in Gazipur, Manikganj, Fulbaria in Mymensingh, Shariatpur, Golapganj in Sylhet and Sitakundu in Chittagong.
