The government of Honduras has announced that government workers will benefit from 3 extra public sector holidays in 2008, from March 17-19.
As was the case in 2007 (28-Mar-2007), there is no mention of any mechanism to compensate these 3 extra days of public holidays.
In 2006, the 3 extra days of public sector holidays were compensated by declaring 3 working Saturdays (04-Apr-2006). In 2005, the same 3 extra public sector holidays were compensated by cancelling the April 14, October 12 and October 21 public holidays for government workers (24-Feb-2005).
