The Ministry of Labour of Nicaragua (MITRAB) released ordinance JCHG-013-11-08 which modifies ordinance JCHG-012-11-08 with respect to the status of the upcoming November 7-8 municipal elections public holidays. The change affects payment due to employees on that day, but does not change the status of these days as nationwide public holidays.
Under the new ordinance, the November 7-8 municipal elections public holidays will be taken out of yearly vacations instead of paid holidays, as originally announced (04-Nov-2008).
The Monday, November 10, public holiday will, however, remain a fully paid public holiday.
