Parliament is about to vote whether to reintroduce austerity Fridays, whereby government offices close every other Friday, and employees who do not work on official CNMI holidays are not be paid for that day.
Public Law 15-24, of 2007, already mandated the biweekly austerity holidays, but it expired on September 30, 2007.
