The Romanian Government has now announced that Friday, May 2, 2008, would be a one-off, full national public holiday, to bridge the gap between the public holiday of Labor Day and the weekend.
As is common in Romania (13-Dec-2007), in compensation, the government of Romania has declared Saturday, May 24, 2008, as a regular working day.
