In its Gazette 30787, Government Notice 200, of February 20, the Department of Education of South Africa has announced the dates of the special one-off bridge holidays for schools, for 2009.
These one-off school holidays are usually adjoined to a Tuesday or Thursday public holiday, and are not to be confused with school terms and vacations, and are usually accompanied by many public and private sector workers taking the day-off to travel with their children.
