Earlier today, Taiwan's Central Personnel Administration announced that Friday, January 2, 2009, will be a one-off extra holiday to bridge the gap between January 1st and the week-end.
The proposal foresees that people will eventually make up for the extra public holiday, by working a Saturday or Sunday, later in the year, as was often done under the previous government.
