(Posted on Tuesday, March 18, 2008)

Source: IOL

President Mugabe has declared Saturday, March 29, 2008, a public holiday to enable workers to vote in the presidential, parliamentary and local government elections.

As per the "the Public Holidays and Prohibition of Business Notice 2008", banks and businesses, normally open on Saturdays, will be closed on that day, while most retailers may remain open.

Public holidays on the days of elections are common in Zimbabwe (06-Mar-2002).
