Afghanistan Declares March 17 Public Holiday

The government of Afghanistan has declared March 17, 2009, as a one-off public holiday, to coincide with the re-burial of ex-president Mohammad Daud Khan, killed in a Soviet-backed coup in 1978, and whose remains were recently uncovered.
