Azerbaijan's Central Election Commission Spokesperson, Azer Sariyev, has announced that the upcoming Municipal elections, and related public holiday, will be held in the second half of December, after December 17-18.
The Labor Code was recently amended to make the date of any election a non-working public holidays throughout Azerbaijan. Previously, only the dates of Presidential elections are declared public holidays (05-Feb-2009).
