Bosnia and Herzegovina Announces Ramadan Dates

(Posted on Thursday, August 13, 2009)

Source: B92 (Belgrade)

The Islamic Sheikdom of Bosnia has announced that the first day of the month of Ramadan would be Friday, August 21, 2009, in conjunction with Macedonia, Kosovo, and Albania.

A similar concerted effort was made last year (05-Aug-2008), apparently taking its cue from the Turkish DIB Muslim Calendar, meaning that Bosnia will start Ramadan one day earlier than many countries, but will, in all likelihood, observe the End of Ramadan public holiday on September 20, 2009, the same date as most other countries (05-Aug-2009).
