Bosnia Changes Date Of Upcoming Kurban Bayram Public Holiday

(Posted on Wednesday, November 4, 2009)

The government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH) has changed the date of the upcoming Kurban Bayram (Feast of Sacrifice) public holiday from Saturday, November 28, to Friday, November 27, 2009.

Apparently this change was made in consultation with the Islamic Sheikdom of Bosnia, which has, in recent years (13-Aug-2009 and 05-Aug-2008), pushed for a joint celebration of Muslim feasts in conjunction with Macedonia, Kosovo, and Albania.
