Independent State MP, Jorge Babu (independent), author of the Lei 5.198 which instituted the April 23, Saint George (São Jorge) State public holiday, has vowed to fight against that public holiday being declared unconstitutional.
This follows a recent spate of court decisions judging that many of the traditional State public holidays are unconstitutional (22-Jan-2009 and 28-Jan-2009).
