Brazil Now Considering Moving Mid-Week Public Holidays To Mondays

Brazilian senator, Roberto Cavalcanti (PRB-PB), has introduced new legislation that would move all mid-week public holidays (civil and religious) to the nearest Monday.

A similar bill, moving some mid-week public holidays to Mondays, was introduced in 2007 (11-Jul-2007 and 27-Nov-2007) and seems to have died for lack of attention.

More recently, a bill that would have moved some mid-week public holidays to Fridays was introduced and rejected (09-Apr-2009 and 06-May-2009).
