The Bulgarian Parliament has officially declared August 23 as the "Day of Commemoration of the Victims of the Crimes Committed by Communist and other Totalitarian Regimes".
The date, which also corresponds to the date of the Ilinden-Preobrazhenie Uprising against the Ottoman Turkish Empire, will be a regular working day, as the Bulgarian Parliament recently voted against an August 23rd, non-working, public holiday (09-Oct-2009).
