Ghana's Minister of the Interior, Cletus Avoka, has announced that the government of Ghana had confirmed Monday, May 25, 2009, African Union Day, as a statutory public holiday.
This official confirmation seems to have been deemed necessary due to recent rumours about the re-establishment of the June 4 public holiday (18-Apr-2009) and the planned new annual public holiday on September 21, beginning this year (20-Feb-2009).
