Kenya's Committee of Experts on Constitutional Review has released a draft of constitutional amendments which would only keep 3 public holidays in Kenya.
The constitutional amendments which are to be voted on in next year's referendum, do allow for Parliament to make provisions for additional public holidays, through legislation, but it does seem set on cancelling the, October 10, Moi Day public holiday.
Under the terms of the current draft, only three public holidays would remain, namely; Madaraka Day (June 1), Mashujaa Day (currently called Kenyatta Day) on October 20, and Jamhuri Day (December 12).
