Late last week, Kuwait's Labour Committee of Parliament approved the first reading of a new labor law which, among other measures, would grant more public holidays to private sector employees.
In particular, the difference in the public holidays for the private and public sectors would be removed, and the private sector would benefit from three days of holidays for the Eid Al-Fitr and four days for the Eid Al-Adha (the private sector currently gets two days for each of the Eid holidays), as well as a public holiday for Liberation Day, on February 26 (the private sector usually gets the day before, National Day).
