The office of Lebanon's prime minister’s announced that Monday, May 25, 2009, had been declared an official public holiday on the occasion of Liberation Day. As such, all public and private institutions, schools and universities will be closed.
Earlier this week, Development and Liberation bloc MP, Anwar al-Khalil, had called for the cabinet to announce May 25 as a national public holiday (20-May-2009).
