Malaysia Could Declare November 8 Kelantan Public Holiday

(Posted on Tuesday, November 3, 2009)

Source: Bernama News Agency (Kota Baharu)

The President of Malaysia's Kelantan Football Association (KAFA), Tan Sri Annuar Musa, has officially asked Malaysia's Kelantan State government to declare a public holiday on Sunday, November 8, 2009, so that supporters do not have to rush home after Saturday's, Malaysia Cup, match.

Recall that in 3 of Malaysia's States (Kedah, Kelantan and Terengganu), the weekly day of rest is Friday, and that, as such, Sundays are regular working days (21-Jun-2005).

A similar regional public holiday was declared last year by the state government of Malaysia's State of Terengganu, due to the state's success in the 12th Malaysia Games (09-Jun-2008).
