The Chief Minister of Pakistan's Province of Sindh, Syed Qaim Ali Shah, has declared a day of mourning public holiday throughout the state on Tuesday, May 12, 2009, to pay homage to those who sacrificed their lives for the restoration of Chief Justice of Pakistan, on that day, two years ago.
The announcement of a public holiday, if it were to occur, was not expected until Monday (09-May-2009).
In related news, the Chairman Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Karachi (BISEK), professor Anwar Ahmed Zai, announced that all papers (examinations) of intermediate scheduled to be held on May 12 have been cancelled. These papers will be held on May 28 instead.
