Paraguay's Parliament is to vote on a draft bill, presented by deputy, Ramona Mendoza, which would create a new annual public holiday, Día de la Democracia, on September 15.
This new public holiday has a scant chance of being voted and ratified, but one never knows, as the September 29 public holiday is an example of such a public holiday that made its way to official and permanent status over the course of 5 years, from 1995 to 2000 (28-Sep-2000).
