A noon, local time, Paraguay's President, Fernando Lugo, issued executive decree 2886 making today, Wednesday, September 9, 2009, a public sector holiday, from 15:00 (3 pm) onward.
The decree whose application is limited to the public sector and schools, is to coincide with the warm-up party leading to tonight's qualification match between Paraguay and Argentina in view of the 2010 World Cup Series.
