Following a WHO (World Health Organization) advisory, Philippines' President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo has decided to postpone the May 8 (working) National Holiday until next week.
The new date has not yet been announced, and Malacañang Executive Secretary, Eduardo R. Ermita, indicated that President Arroyo would not be available to begin discussions about the postponed celebrations until next Monday.
Recall that, yesterday, President Arroyo, issued Proclamation No. 1764 declaring Friday, May 8, 2009, as a (working) national day of celebration to honor boxing champion Manny Pacquiao (05-May-2009).
