Ecuador's Minister of Tourism, Freddy Elhers, has issued a press release announcing that the date of the upcoming August 10, Primer Grito de la Independencia, public holiday had been moved to Friday, August 13, in 2010.

The aforementioned announcement is in line with Presidential Decree 418, signed by Ecuador's President, Rafael Correa, on June 19, 2007, and which stipulates Ecuador's official public holidays for the years 2008, 2009, 2010, and 2011 (20-Jun-2007), and was also hinted at a couple of months ago (18-May-2010) in a statement by the same minister.
