The president of the Gambia Supreme Islamic Council (GSIC), Alhaji Momodou Lamin Touray, has announced that Tobaski (the Muslim Feast of Sacrifice) would be observed tomorrow, Tuesday, November 16, 2010.
For the second year in a row (20-Nov-2009), and contrary to the year before that (04-Dec-2008), the Gambia Supreme Islamic Council is announcing a date in line with that announced by Saudi Arabia (07-Nov-2010).
Two years ago (01-Sep-2009), Gambia's President, Yaya Jammeh, and the Gambian Supreme Islamic Council (SIC), jointly announced that from now on the dates of Muslim public holidays would be calculated in line with the Umm al-Qura calendar used by Saudi Arabia.
