The governor of Iraq's Province of Karbala has announced a one-off regional public sector holiday on Wednesday and Thursday, February 3-4, 2010, in all government departments.
A similar public holiday was declared by Governor Amal al-Din al-Hir, last summer (06-Aug-2009) on the occasion of al-Ziyara al-Shaabaniya, which commemorates the birth of the Imam al-Mahdi.
