Kuwait's Cabinet is reported to be considering declaring Monday, March 1, 2010, a public holiday, thereby extending the upcoming month-end public holidays to 5 consecutive days.

The final decision which is expected to be made during the upcoming weekly meeting of Kuwait's Cabinet, would address the fact that the Prophet’s Birthday public holiday falls on the weekend and also on the date of another public holiday, this year.

Earlier this month (02-Feb-2010), Kuwait's Cabinet declared a 4-day period of public holidays, from February 25-28, 2010, on the occasion of this year's conjunction of the National Day public holiday (annually on February 25), the Liberation Day public holiday (annually on February 26), in addition to the Prophet’s Birthday public holiday (February 26, in 2010), and the weekend which, since 2007 (04-Aug-2007), is Friday and Saturday.
