The President of Sierra Leone, Ernest Bai Koroma, has declared that the upcoming, February 18, Armed Forces Day, would be a one-off non-working public holiday.

The communique from the State House Press Secretariat points out that Armed Forces Day will continue to be commemorated annually in remembrance of those fallen in the two World Wars, the Liberian Civil War, and the Civil Conflict in Sierra Leone from 1991-2002, but that the non-working public holiday is a one-off event, limited to Thursday, February 18, 2010.
