Tonga's recently-passed "Public Holidays (Amendment) Act 2010" (Act No. 10 of 2010) has been signed into law by Princess Salote Pilolevu Tuita.
The aforementioned act, "Lao (Fakatonutonu) ki he Ngaahi 'Aho Malolo Faka-Pule'anga 2010" was passed by the Tongan Legislative Assembly, last month (08-Apr-2010), and moves the date of some mid-week public holidays to the nearest Monday.
Thought the text of the Act does not specify when it will take effect, it is widely assumed that the aforementioned amendments to the "Public Holidays Act (Cap. 51)" will take effect in 2011.
