The President of Liberia, Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf, has issued a proclamation declaring Tuesday, November 29, 2011, as a non-working public holiday to be observed throughout the Republic as a national holiday.
The aforementioned date of November 29, corresponding to the 116th birth anniversary of President William V. S. Tubman was set aside as an annual non-working public holiday in the 3rd Session of the 42nd National Legislature of the Republic of Liberia, but such last-minute re-confirmation of annual public holidays are a staple of the Liberian public holidays calendar (01-Nov-2011, 06-Apr-2011, 03-Nov-2010, 23-Jul-2010 and 08-Apr-2010).
