(Posted on Monday, March 28, 2011)

Source: Macedonian Information Agency (MIA)

The government of Macedonia has declared Thursday, March 31, 2011, as the 7th Tree-Planting national non-working public holiday.

This is the 7th such public holiday (17-Nov-2010, 28-Mar-2010, 12-Nov-2009, 18-Nov-2008, and 12-Mar-2008) since 2008. Usually one is held in the spring and one in the fall (although the spring 2009 tree planting day was held on a Saturday).

No date has yet been announced as a Saturday working day in compensation.
