Montserrat's Labour Commissioner, Claude E.S. Hogan, has announced the list of public holidays, and additional public holidays for the end of 2011 and beginning of 2012 in Montserrat.
The aforementioned clarification of the exact consequences of the "explanatory" note at the bottom of the Schedule to Section 2 of the governing Public Holidays Act (16-Dec-1999) has become a staple of public holidays life in Montserrat (07-Jan-2011, 16-Dec-2010), ever since an amendment to the Montserrat Public Holidays Act was passed a decade ago "to remove the previous ambiguities about the status of Mondays (and sometimes Tuesdays) that follow a fixed date public holiday that occurs on a weekend" (16-Dec-1999 and 10-Dec-1999).
