The UAE's Federal Government, through its respective ministries, has announced the dates of the upcoming Eid Al Fitr (End of Ramadan) non-working public holidays, for both the public sector and the private sector.

The UAE's Minister of Education, Humaid Mohammed Al Qattami, in his capacity as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources, has announced that the upcoming Eid Al Fitr public holidays in ministries and federal institutions will run from Sunday, August 28, to Saturday, September 3, 2011, inclusively.

In a separate announcement, Saqr Ghobash Saeed Ghobash, the UAE's Minister of Labour, officially announced that all business establishments in the private sector would observe the first and second days of the month of Shawwal (August 30 and 31, 2011) as the Eid-al-Fitr non-working public holidays.

The reduction of the private sector Eid Al Fitr non-working public holidays from the legal 3 days to only 2 days is a trend that started a few years ago (06-Sep-2010, 15-Sep-2009, and 23-Sep-2008).
