The UAE's Board Chairman of the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources, Humaid Al Qattami, has announced the dates of the upcoming combined Hijri New Year and National Day public holidays in the United Arab Emirates.
As per the aforementioned communique, the UAE's Ministries and Public Institutions be closed from Thursday, December 1, until Saturday, December 3, 2011, inclusively.
Note that December 1st, 2011, has been declared a national non-working public holiday in the UAE in compensation for the Islamic New Hijri Year 1433 day which will be a regular working day in the UAE.
In a separate announcement, the UAE Ministry of Labour announced that Thursday, December 1, 2011, would also be a paid holiday for the UAE's private sector to mark the Islamic New Hijri Year 1433, and that Saturday, December 3, 2011, had also been announced by the Ministry as a paid holiday for the UAE's private sector in celebration of the 40th anniversary of the UAE's National Day.
In yet another announcement, the Central Bank of the UAE announced that all banks in the UAE would close on Thursday, December 1, 2011, to mark the UAE's 40th National Day and the Islamic new year.
