The Cape Verde Minister of Health, Cristina Fontes, has announced that, this year, the government of Cape Verde would not declare a one-off public sector holiday (tolerância de ponto) to coincide with the launch the national anti-dengue campaign.
Last year (12-Jun-2011), the government of Cape Verde had declared one-off public sector holiday (tolerância de ponto) for the entire day of Friday, July 8, 2011, to coincide with the 2012 launch of the annual drive against dengue and paludism (campanhas de limpeza e de desinfestação das residências para combater os mosquitos vectores da dengue e paludismo).
