India 2012 Tamil Nadu Public Holidays Revised Again

The Government of India's state of Tamil Nadu has announced another revision of its previously-released list of the non-working public holidays for the calendar year 2012 in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu, by shifting the date of the Krishna Jayanti public holiday to tomorrow.

As per the Press Release No.468, the Krishna Jayanti public holiday originally announced for September 8, 2012, will in fact take place tomorrow, on Thursday, August 9, 2012.

At the time that the initial list of 2012 public holidays in Tamil Nadu was announced, we had remarked that the announced date seemed incorrect (25-Oct-2011).

This is the second time, this year, that the government of Tamil Nadu makes an error of one month in its calculation of a public holiday.Earlier this year (19-Jan-2012), the government of Tamil Nadu, announced that it was changing the date of the 2012 Telugu New Year’s Day non-working public holiday from April 23 to March 23.
