The Supreme Court of Saudi Arabia has announced that the new moon of Dhu Al Hijja had not been sighted on Monday, and therefore that Friday, October 26, 2012, would be the first day of the upcoming Eid Al Adha.
An initial list of 2012 public holidays in Saudi Arabia had been announced late last year (27-Oct-2011), and this was later amended (01-Mar-2012) by an announcement extending the 2012 Eid Al-Fitr public sector holidays from 10 to 12 days and the 2012 Eid Al-Adha public sector holidays from 10 days to 16 days.
The extension of the Eid Al-Adha public holidays was recently re-confirmed (17-Sep-2012) at around the same time as the Saudi Stock Exchange announced the upcoming Saudi financial public holidays (07-Oct-2012).
