The government of Suriname has confirmed that the upcoming Maroons Day (Dag der Marrons) would once again be a non-working public holiday in Suriname.
The Maroons' Day public holiday was added to the list of official Suriname public holidays effective last year (24-Nov-2010), and this was reconfirmed in the list of 2012 Surname public holidays released at the beginning of this year (31-Jan-2012).
