Philip Rushbrook, the Director of Strategy in of the Governor of the Turks and Caicos Islands, Ric Todd, has stated that, unlike last time, the date of the upcoming parliamentary elections, Friday, November 9, 2012, would definitely not be a non-working public holiday in the Turks and Caicos Islands.

Five years ago (26-Jan-2007), the date of the last parliamentary elections was declared a non-working public holiday in the Turks and Caicos Islands.

In a separate interview, the Turks and Caicos Islands Elections Supervisor, Dudley Lewis, confirmed that the decision to declare a one-off non-working public holiday on account of the upcoming elections, was entirely the preserve of Governor Ric Todd.
