Cameroon Public Holiday January 2

(Posted on Friday, December 30, 2016)

Source: Présidence de la République du Cameroun (Yaoundé)

The President of Cameroon, Paul Biya, has signed another decree declaring Monday, January 2, 2017, as a day in lieu non-working public holiday (feriée chômée sur toute l'étendue du territoire de la république du Cameroun) due to the annual upcoming, January 1st, non-working public holiday of Cameroon falling on a Sunday in 2017.

The aforementioned declaration of Monday, January 2, 2017, as a day in lieu non-working public holiday due to the January 1st public holiday in Cameroon falling on a Sunday, follows last week's declaration of Monday, December 26, 2016, as a day in lieu non-working public holiday due to the Christmas Day public holiday in Cameroon falling on a Sunday (23-Dec-2016), and is similar to what happened a few years ago under similar circumstances (22-Dec-2011) and more recently for the May 1st, 2016, public holiday of Cameroon (29-Apr-2016).
