The President of the Maldives, Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom, has decided to extend the upcoming Independence Day annual public holidays in the Maldives, by one more day, by declaring an additional non-working public holiday in the Maldives on Sunday, July 31, 2016.

Earlier this month, Maldives President, Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom, had already extended the upcoming Independence Day annual public holidays in the Maldives and link it to the following weekend by declaring an additional non-working public holiday in the Maldives for today, Thursday, July 28, 2016.

As per the text of the today's announcement, "government offices will reopen on Monday, August 1st, 2016", and the previously-announced (04-Jan-2016), and later modified (12-Jul-2016), list of 2016 public holidays in the Maldives has thus been amended again.
