Source: Government Gazette - Summary: The Administrator of the Territory of Cocos (Keeling) Islands, Neil Lucas, has amended the list of public holidays specified in the recently released Government Gazette 02/06 of August 30, 2006, and announced that the Act of Self Determination Day public holiday, normally celebrated on April 6, would be moved to April 5, in 2007.
The reason for this change was not specified, but one would assume that is is to compensate the fact that, in 2007, the Good Friday public holiday falls on the same date as the Act of Self Determination Day public holiday.
