Source: Radio Pakistan (Islamabad) - Summary: The Chairman of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, Mufti Muneebur Rehman, has announced that the Zilhajj moon had not been sighted anywhere in the country last night and that consequently the Eidul-Azha public holiday would be celebrated on Tuesday, December 9, 2008.
Recall that an earlier than usual call for a meeting of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee (our November 16, 2008, news update) had prompted rumours of a possible December 8 Eidul-Azha public holiday.
