11 Mar 2012 (The Herald-Harare) The Zimbabwe Congress of Trade Unions (ZCTU) has called on the government of Zimbabwe to declare March 8 an annual non-working public holiday in Zimbabwe to commemorate International Women's Day.
20 Dec 2011 (The Herald-Harare) Zimbabwe's Secretary for Media, Information and Publicity, George Charamba, has announced that the Cabinet of Zimbabwe had decided to declare Tuesday, December 27, 2011, as an additional one-off non-working public holiday throughout Zimbabwe.
30 Aug 2011 (The Herald-Harare) Zimbabwe's Home Affairs Co-Ministers, Kembo Mohadi and Theresa Makoni, have announced that the Government of Zimbabwe had officially gazetted the list of 2012 non-working public holidays.

National Unity Day is a public holiday gazetted through Statutory Instrument 156 of 1997 to mark the signing of the Unity Accord between the country's two revolutionary parties, Zanu-PF and PF Zapu, on December 22, 1987, in Harare.
